A toddler’s death is being investigated as a homicide now and the young girl’s mother was arrested Thursday morning.
Roseville Police were called to a home Diamond Oaks Road around 6 p.m. Wednesday night. A two-year-old girl, later identified as McKinley Wilder, was not breathing and died.
The girl’s mother, Denise Marie Wilder, was intoxicated according to responding officers. Her other child, a five-year-old girl, was also at the house. The older girl was taken to Child Protective Services.
Cops initially called the death suspicious, and they taped off the home to further investigate. The home belongs to Wilder’s parents, who were out of town at the time of the incident.
Thursday morning they announced they arrested Wilder for the death of the toddler. She is facing charges of homicide and child endangerment.
However, investigators did not elaborate on the cause of death or any motive in the case.
