Graffiti at a skate park, it’s nothing new. But when someone draws swastikas and hateful words on a public place, it raises some eyebrows.
“It was a little bizarre, definitely destructive,” says Lt. Norm Leong of the Sacramento Police Department.
“White supremacy stuff, derogatory statements on homosexual[s], but there was also gang graffiti too,” Leong says.
Police suspect the graffiti happened sometime between Friday night and early Saturday morning. They got a call Saturday morning, and responded to clean it up within the hour.
“We don’t want that type of thing in the community,” Leong says.
But, graffiti can be found all over Sacramento and can go months without getting cleaned up – unless the graffiti contains hateful words.
“Like any other entity, government is stretched thin, staffing is thin,” Leong says.
Police do not have any leads yet on who might have done this. If you have any information, give them at call at (916) 264-5471.
