I would like to salute my husband, Officer Joe Almeida. He has been serving in law enforcement for seven years. He has sacrificed holidays and time with family to protect the community he serves. He received the Life Saving Award and is being honored by Mothers Against Drunk Driving. We are very proud of all he has accomplished. He is a great husband, father, and officer. (Amanda Almeida)

Mario A. Kohn, midshipmen 4th class at the Naval Academy. He is in his first year at the academy and is coming home for two weeks next Tuesday. He graduated in the top 2% of his class at Yuba City High this year and has spent hundreds of hours as a volunteer in our community. As a matter of fact…he is even planning to help coach a little league camp for underprivileged children while he is home! (G W Kohn from Yuba City)

Sacramento AmeriCorps NCCC, Class 19

“This is Class 19 of AmeriCorps NCCC in the Pacific Region, located on McClellan Park in Sacramento. NCCC Members are 18-24 years old and dedicate 10 months of their lives to serving our communities in environmental stewardship, energy conservation, urban & rural development, infrastructure improvement, and disaster response projects. Some of these Members have served in Superstorm Sandy relief. They are currently about half-way through their service year with NCCC, which is just the beginning of a lifetime of service for these inspirational young adults! Thank you, AmeriCorps NCCC Corps Members! Keep getting things done!!”

My son, SPC Michael J. Harpe, is currently with B CO 449 Aviation Maintenance, 36 Combat Aviation Brigade, Austin, Texas.
He entered into the Army in 2001. Deployed to Iraq 2003-2004 and 2005-2006with the 3rd Armored Calvary Regiment. Deployed to Iraq again in 2007-2008 with the 4th Infantry Division.
Currently serving with Texas National Guard.
Awards include 3 Army Commendation Medals, 2 Army Achievement Medals and a Combat Action Badge for being under mortar fire on his last deployment in Iraq.
Thank You for giving us, the families, of those who service a chance to brag about our loved one who sacrifice so much for the rest of us.

Cliff Popejoy built, organizes, and leads our volunteer electrical team. He has built a sustainable electrical team that provides long-term professional electrical installations for Sacramento Habitat for Humanity Homes at no cost. He and the electrical team crew do all of the electrical work on our homes and many of them also aid additional aspects of construction.

This is my son, Staff Sgt Chris Ellingsworth on his first tour in Iraq 5 years ago. The children were afraid at first, but Chris won them over with his kindness and big heart.
He will be leaving for a 4th tour, to Afghanistan, this summer. (Joni Moore)

My Husband, Mike Holm.
What doesn’t Mike do? Mike is a High School Football Coach (Freshman/Whitney HS), Little League Manager (Tri City Little League), and a multi sport Special Olympic Coach. Coaching is his life, he has given years to help mold athletes into fine young people. He is a beloved Coach to many, and has brought the love of sport to many athletes with special needs. Everyone loves Coach Mike. He gets my vote, and I couldn’t be more proud of him.

Our daughter, Tracy Maddox, is a Naval Flight Officer. She is the fourth generation in our family to serve in the US Navy. After 23 years of honorable service with the United States Army, Sergeant First Class Jeffrey Wilson is preparing for retirement. July 17th will be his final day of wearing the uniform. Our son, First Lieutenant Robert K. Poe, has served in the Air Force for the past eight years as a Air Refueling Operator and Instructor at McConnell AFB in Kansas where he completed nine deployments to southwest Asia and completed over 200 combat missions. He is currently stationed at Hurlburt Field in Florida as an Aerial Combat Systems Officer. This picture was taken in May 2010 when he graduated from OTS.
We love him and are so proud of who he is and all that he has accomplished!
