SACRAMENTO-
A sandal and a few towels in a Sacramento backyard leave behind an eerie reminder of what happened Friday afternoon in the Saechao’s family pool.
“My daughter in law had a Doctor’s appointment, when she came back she found them in the pool,” said family member, Fouta Chao.
Pham Saechao discovered her two year old son and 30-year-old husband in their family pool, unresponsive this afternoon.
“Immediately, the officer tried to perform CPR on the 2-year-old,” said Doug Morse of the Sacramento Police Department.
“We just pray.” the grandmother told FOX40. She points to a dead chicken in her kitchen sink. “This is the chicken for the spirit” she says.
They bought it, killed it, cleaned it, and ate it, part of their Buddhist tradition. Still, the family is trying to piece together how this happened.
“Nobody saw what happened,” said Chao. “Only him and his son.”
Police say they don’t suspect foul play.
“It appears to be an extremely tragic incident,” said Morse.
According to the Sacramento Police Department, both the father and son passed away Friday evening at the UC Davis Medical Center.
Sunday, the coroner’s office officially identified the two as Brian and Raphael Saechao.

That is not a budhist tradition. Though they are budhist but it is more like their own traditional believes.

The Buddhist traditional is don’t kill any living things. Therefore, they killed, clean, and eat the spirit chicken absolutely their own traditional. Can’t said that’s Buddhist. Anyway, deepest sympathy and prayer for father and son. Also for the widow too.
