SAN FRANCISCO-

With an early lead in the first inning, then blowing the game wide open in the fifth, the San Francisco Giants triumphed over the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 7 and advanced to the World Series.

This will be the Giants’ 19th World Series.

The final score had the Giants winning over the Cardinals 9-0. The Cards were only allowed seven hits.

The top of the ninth was particularly dramatic due to a sudden downpour. With only three outs to go, the game continued in the pouring rain.

The rain and champagne-soaked Giants, and fans, didn’t seem to mind.

Game one of the World Series will air on FOX40 Wednesday, Oct. 24. The FOX Sports pre-game show will begin at 4:30 p.m.
