Person Gives Note to Restaurant Employee, Man Found Dead in Home
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY–
A man was found dead at a home along Waterloo Road late Friday night, with sheriff’s now labeling the incident as a homicide.
Authorities were tipped off about the death when a man wearing all dark clothing showed up at an unidentified restaurant along Charter Way around 10 p.m. and gave an employee a note. The note said someone should call police and search a home along the 2400 block of Waterloo Road.
Sheriff’s then went to the home and found a man who looked to have a gunshot wound to the head. Detectives didn’t find any signs of forced entry or a struggle, and nothing looked to have been taken.
The person who handed the note to employees is said to have fled the restaurant on foot. Charter way is about eight miles from the 2400 block of Waterloo Road.
Sheriff’s started calling the incident a homicide a little after 6 p.m. Saturday. They originally only labeled the incident as “suspicious.” Investigators also identified the victim as 20-year-old Jorge Eguiluz.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office at (209) 468-4400.
