Speeding Car Crashes into Home; Driver Flees, Teen Dead

File photo.

TURLOCK–

After seeing a car speed by them Saturday, police found out shortly that it had crashed into a house down the road – mortally wounding a teenage passenger.

Police originally saw the car speed by them around 3:30 a.m. along South Golden State Boulevard. The car headed southbound at a “high rate of speed,” a release notes.

Officers searched for the car and found that it had crashed into a home near Lander and Montana avenues about two miles down the road. Apparently, as investigators note, the car hit a tree first then hit the house.

Bystanders and medics rushed to the aid of 18-year-old Taylor Vessel, who was a passenger in the car. She was partially ejected by the crash and was later pronounced dead at the Emanuel Medical Center.

No one inside the house was hurt in the crash.

Witnesses and surveillance footage captured the driver fleeing the scene, but the person has not been identified at this time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Turlock Police at (209) 634-7380, or Crime Stoppers at (209) 521-4636.

Aw, this was an incredibly good post. Spending some time and actual effort to produce a good article… but what can I say… I put things off a whole lot and don’t seem to get anything done.

Why is there a photo of Stockton police cars in this article? Quit being so lazy and find a photo related to the article!

Only idiots would blame this on police for not stopping them… If you read this you morons it says they drove past police at a high rate of speed thus police lost sight of the vehicle.. They then found it in the house. So sorry about taylors family loss but dont go and blame anyone else then those in the car…….. If you care so much about Taylor why not tell the police who she was riding with because they killed her….

An sorry to say Taylor obviously made a bad choice and sadly it cost her life. When i was young I had a neighbor friend who had a fast muscle car and always drove crazy. It was obvious to everyone seeing him drive that some day he was going to kill someone with his car. And he did he killed my best friend. But it was my best friends choice he made to get in that car. Because even at 17 i knew and everyone else knew the way he was driving he was going to kill someone. I was smart enough to never get in that car with him driving.. So the driver killed Taylor, and Taylor made a bad choice the police had nothing to do with thisbut bad choices did.

She may of been 18 and “legally” an adult but get real . That’s to young to be out and about at 3:30 am . She was obviously up to no good . And they could of been speeding to get away from something they did . It’s too bad her family had no concern for her safety . If they did she would if been home before midnight

It's so easy to judge and make comments from your couch but the truth is you don't know the family, you don't know the situation so you have no grounds to comment on things you know nothing about. The truth is a mother lost her daughter, a brother lost his sister and their lives will never be the same. We are all heart broken and can go forward and help this family heal.

Rest in peace Taylor . I remember are little clique back then . Ima miss u & ur always gna be their n my heart.

  • WHAT REALLY HAPPEND

He must have seen the police while speeding by and panicked resulting in the crash. He was afraid that if the police caught up with him they would brutally beat and arrest him in front of his girl and most likely the cops harming her too. The police cause more problems then we’d like to think, but we really need to stop looking up to them for help.

How stupid are these police officers??? Please tell me they will be fired. In a way they are at fault for the death of this girl for not stopping the vehicle any sooner when they initially saw it speeding. Mind u i used to be a police officer as well so i know exactly what they were thinking “30 minutes til shift change i dont wanna deal with this” “im tired its too late/early in their shift” how do u not pull someone over at these speeds on a saturday night really?? Come on turlock…

Its sad to see that people are talking about taylor its her fault saying she up to no good what kind of person would say something like that. Just cause she was out that late doesnt mean she up to no good. Dont blame it on here. Its not the cops fault they said they lost loslt sight of the car and that found it up they street. Rest in paradise your in the gates of heaven. Ill be praying for your family.

If you know the driver WHY ARE YOU ON HERE! GO TO THE POLICE. Don’t be a coward. IF this is NATASHA (the girl with the suspect in the pics above) go to the police or her family! YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO BE TAYLOR’S BEST FRIEND! How can you let her family suffer and not speak up! You know the driver! Your in photos with him right after the crash!!.

  • anonymous

^^^ your stupid. That would not of happened! The driver would of been arrest! Duh! But brutality beaten pls get outta here! And beat his girl too. Taylor wasn’t his gf! If it was he wouldn’t of left her! And second how and why would cops beat and arrest Taylor while she’s hanging out the windsheild you fn idiot! Sounds like you KNOW the driver! Maybe you need to be speaking with police instead of making excuses on her!!

All I know is my heart goes out to this family. Unfortunate things happen when people are careless. This family lost Taylor because of that… who cares that she was out late on a Saturday night… did anyone posting about her know enough to say she’s ‘up to no good’ or the cops are they to blame as well.. bad choices are to blame. Had the driver stayed there with her would not of saved her life.. I’m sorry but unless he was enter or Dr on the side I can’t see him staying there saving her. But leaving her was just cruel. It comes down to respect and morals. Of which the driver had none. And apparently from what I read neither does her bff in pics above. I just pray that everything comes to light. That her friend speaks up and that the driver does his time.. even though nothing is bringing her back this family STILL deserves the truth. My prayers go out to her family.

All I can say is that someone needs to find her best friend Natasha who is with suspect in photos and beat some answers out of her.

  • anonymous

Hi I seen you wrote you were an ex cop. Can you pls shed some light on what can happen to her friend Natasha who is with suspect right after crash and it was also her car he wrecked. Can she get in trouble for not cooperating with the investigation. I mean right now if she would just speak up this family can find peace. I know there’s a lot of things to take into account there’s a lot of the blame game being played.. but her bff knows things… and isn’t telling.. pls tell me there will be consequences for her as. Well
