Toddler Shot, Police Investigating How and Why

MODESTO–

Police are investigating how a toddler was shot in Modesto early Sunday afternoon.

Authorities have set up shop along Stone Leaf Court, but this is just one of many crime scenes police look to be investigating.

The toddler was taken to the hospital privately. Once at the hospital, the circumstances surrounding why the toddler was shot aroused the suspicion of police.

The family said the toddler was shot during a drive-by shooting. But, police have said that is not the case, with neighbors along Stone Leaf Court not reporting hearing any shots fired.

Police say that the toddler is expected to be OK. The toddler was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Oakland.

Someone is reportedly detained, but police say that person has not been arrested.

  • WHAT REALLY HAPPEND

At first I thought it said ” police shot toddler and then asked why” I wouldn’t be surprised though cops are out if control. Hire a mentally ill bullied kid , give him a gun and a badge, and call the loser a “peace officer” is gonna cause only problems

Police are not even close to half of the problem…this is probably the most asinine comment on so many levels, its people like you that complain about the problem but do nothing to be a part of the solution that should just say nothing at all

Sadly no surprise… if people knew what a gun shot wound looks like, if they understood how bullets rip through flesh, bone and muscle….. the horror of it… they might be willing to have intelligent conversation about gun owner responsibility. After some 30 years as a trauma nurse, there are few instances I can remember, where the shooting of another human being was "justified" or resulted out of self defense.
