Nonsurgical cosmetic treatments can make many look years younger and have been gaining popularity in recent years.
One type of treatment is the fractional CO2 laser, which helps remove sunspots, fine lines and wrinkles in a painless way.
According to Rachael Frazier, an R.N. at the Skincare & Laser Center, the laser obliterates a portion of the top and middle part of the skin. Over time, the skin produces collagen in the areas it was removed which retextures it.
She says the process itself takes under an hour, but it takes between six weeks to six months to see results, which can last between five to eight years.
FOX40 spoke with Frazier, who demonstrates how the fractional CO2 laser works on an eggplant and a patient with skin spots. [see video]
