The chase started shortly before 5:30 p.m. when county Sheriff’s deputies and Sacramento Police officers were trying to stop a car near Walegra Road and Oak Hollow Drive.

Officers were led through McClellan Air Force Base, up Interstate-80 before it ended neat Walnut Avenue and Kohler Avenue in the North Highlands neighborhood.

At some point, a gun was reportedly thrown from the car during the chase. Deputies say they were later able to find it.
