Northstar at Tahoe was preparing for a Friday, November 16 opening. But thanks to recent snowfall combined with some productive nights of snow-making, the resort welcomed skiers and riders on Wednesday. It was the earliest opening in the resort’s history.
“Our snow-makers had everything dialed ahead of time. So we thought, ‘Why not? Let’s get going.’ And we had the chance to open today. So we went for it.”
And you could tell by their smiling faces, the skiers, snowboarders and employees were thrilled to be back on the mountain.
Heavenly also opened on Wednesday. Kirkwood and Squaw Valley will open Friday, followed by Sugar Bowl on Saturday. Boreal Mountain Resort opened several days ago.
