STOCKTON-

A Stockton Police officer and a wanted parolee were both hit by a car Thursday night during a foot chase.

Officers say a patrol unit tried to stop a man, wanted for assault with a deadly weapon, on his bike neat San Joaquin Street and Minor Avenue at about 8 p.m. The man didn’t stop, and police say an officer ran after him on foot.

During the chase, both the officer and the man on the bike were hit by a grey van.

Police say what happened was a total accident, and that the woman driving the van had nothing to do with the chase.

The officer and the parolee were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Your comments were not very accurate. The street name is spelled Miner, like gold miner. And the lady that struck them was distraught. And how dare this parolee endanger the public indanger a reckless manor the public. And I understand he had a knife in his hoodie
