Paralyzed Dog Gets New Wheels

SACRAMENTO–

Found wandering the streets of Sacramento. She was homeless with four legs, but only able to use two.

“She’s an amazing little dog,” says Gina Knepp with the Sacramento City Animal Shelter.

When FOX40 first met this pint size black Chihuahua, she could barely get around. But now she’s moving fast. Someone stepped forward and donated a new wheelchair for Jewel to be able to get around.

The Sacramento City Animal Shelter couldn’t bare to euthanize Jewel so now they’re hoping someone has the loving home she needs, it will take a special owner for a special loving little dog like Jewel.

“Someone who is home, someone possible retired and who doesn’t live in a two story house,” says Knepp.

If you would like to adopt Jewel contact the City of Sacramento Animal Care Services at 2127 Front Street, Sacramento, CA 95818 or you can call (916) 808-7387.
