TRACY-
An Amazon.com distribution center is coming to Tracy, the city’s Mayor Brent Ives confirmed Friday.
With the new center, the mayor said about 1,000 jobs will be created.
Ives told FOX40 that the inside of the center to be pretty hi-tech, with automated sorting to packages.
The city had been working with the online retailer for about a year to bring the center to town. Ives said that the center should bring about $1 million to Tracy annually.
This center comes off the heels of a planned Amazon distribution center in Patterson, which was officially announced in May.
