A 51-year-old woman was hit by a pumpkin in a drive-by assault, police say.
The assault happened late Thanksgiving night near N Wilson Way and E Roosevelt Street.
A small, white sedan reportedly sped by the woman. An unknown suspect then threw a pumpkin at her, striking the woman in the chest.
The woman had to be taken to the hospital for treatment. She is said to be in stable condition.
“You gotta factor in how fast the car was driving and, also, the person that was throwing the pumpkin out of the vehicle. It did strike her right in the middle of the chest,” said Officer Joe Silva, with the Stockton Police Department.
As far as detectives are concerned, this isn’t some prank gone wrong. It’s a felony.
Friday, pieces of pumpkin could still be found at the scene.
