Animal Control Officer Shot in Galt

Officers gather near a home in Galt where an animal control officer was shot.

GALT-

An animal control officer has been shot in Galt Wednesday morning.

The believed suspect has barricaded themselves inside a home, and deputies from Sacramento and surrounding areas are heading to Galt to help.

Galt High School is on lockdown, several students are tweeting about being stuck inside. The school says they have no plans for releasing students early.

The shooting happened around Noon. An air ambulance was sent for, it sounds like the injuries are very serious.

A crew is on the way, and will have updates soon.
