A newborn baby, found June 21 in a trash bag on the side of a road in Newcastle, was given a proper burial Monday by members of the Placer County Sheriff’s Department.
The child was found by a woman walking through an undeveloped subdivision when she smelled an odor coming from a pile of garbage bags a few feet off the roadway, investigators say.
The boy’s body was found in the bags.
Investigators say the child’s mother has not been found.
