Students and faculty at St. Francis Catholic High School in Sacramento will gather Monday to remember a beloved art teacher who was killed over the weekend.
Kathy Carlisle was hit by a train Saturday afternoon near Elvas Avenue and 65th Street, which is near the St. Francis campus. School officials report that Carlisle was taking pictures, something she loved to do.
“Having her here on campus for the girls created such life and vitality,” said Margo Reid Brown, the school’s president.
Classes at St. Francis will be canceled Monday, so students can gather together for a prayer service on campus. The school is asking for privacy in mourning the teacher.
