FedEx’s Busiest Shipping Day of the Year
It is the busiest shipping day of the year for the nation’s second largest delivery company. It is expecting to break a shipping record with 19 million packages world-wide.
About 25,000 packages will move through the Rancho Cordova FedEx location just Monday.
That’s up 10 percent from this time last year, and more than double the volume on a typical day.
E-commerce is directly contributing to the increase.
After sorting and loading packages, 75 trucks at the Rancho Cordova location alone, head out like an army deployed on a mission to make 5,500 different stops in 8 1/2 hours.
FedEx will ship almost anything up to 150 pounds, however there are certain things they will not ship, like cash and human remains.
