Police have arrested a man suspected of a robbery from back in late July. The arrest happened on Dec. 5, with police announcing it Tuesday.
The man, 23-year-old Dominique Albert Holmes, was already in custody at the Solano County Jail on unrelated charges when detectives served him the warrant.
Holmes allegedly tricked a man into meeting him under the pretense that he would buy his iPhone that was advertised on Craigslist. The two met up around 10:45 p.m. at a gas station near Sunrise Avenue and Cirby Way on July 29, only for Holmes to grab the phone and run.
The robbery victim then gave chase, tackling Holmes. But, the confrontation was cut short when an accomplice of Holmes threatened the victim with a gun. Holmes then drove off.
Without much to go on, police were still able to identify Holmes as the suspect. Police caught up to Holmes at the Solano County Jail with the help of the Solano County Probation Department.
Holmes has now been transferred to the Placer County Jail. His accomplice has not been identified.
