While there’s no crying in the big leagues, that’s not the case with the Rio Linda Little League. Those tears came after the league’s equipment shed was broken into Friday.
Thieves managed to break the hinges off and steal everything from sweatshirts, to bats and balls. In all, about $15,000 worth of equipment was stolen.
While the equipment is used to play the games, the sweatshirts were fundraisers used to pay the bills.
“This was all we used we sell this stuff for money for our league, so I’m not sure what were going to do now,” said Tina Geer with the league.
For now, the home team is protecting itself from unwanted visitors. And with the season starting in a few months, they hope to get things back on track.
“If I didn’t want to get arrested I would hunt them down and probably do something mean to them,” Geer said.
The league is looking for donations. For more information, go to their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Rio-Linda-Little-League/297772970275111
