The Costco Gas Station off Harney Lane and Highway 99 in Lodi is home to  the cheapest gas in California, at least for Wednesday.

According to Gasbuddy.com, the price of $2.89 a gallon for regular unleaded is unmatched.

“I thought it was going up to $5 a gallon, so this is a surprise,” says Jill Groom, who said she’ll now be able to get a couple extra Christmas gifts with the cash she’s saving.

But, those without a membership to the wholesaler didn’t have to go far to get a deal of their own.

The ARCO station about a mile away on E. Kettleman Lane is offering $2.99 a gallon.

“I come all the way from Galt just to get this gas,” says Juana Linares.

“I normally only get $20 at a time, today I’m putting $30,” she added with a smile.
