It’s an early Christmas present for some, as Gov. Brown announced Monday that he has pardoned 79 people.
His office notes that the pardons were given to criminals who have completed their sentences and have not been involved in criminal activity for more than a decade.
Convicts can apply to be pardoned by the governor, but they need to have shown that they have become exemplar, law-abiding citizens since their conviction.
With a pardon being public record, however, it will be known that you were given a pardon.
A full list of the pardons Gov. Brown gave out can be found here- http://gov.ca.gov/docs/Pardon.pdf (WARNING: It is 33mb file).
