Ready to ring in the new year? It’s just around the corner—and the options are endless.
In Old Sac, there’s a great, free, family-friendly show starting at 6pm with a Taylor Swift Tribute Band followed by Radio Disney’s Rockin’ Road Crew. Then at 9pm, catch the fireworks followed by a 70’s/80’s cover band playing you into 2013.
The Doubletree by Hilton in both Modesto and Sacramento are hosting their New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. In Sacramento, rock out to cover band Notorious, and in Modesto enjoy comedians, live bands and DJ’s.
Or get your dance on to Sacramento’s own “Nevada Backwards” as they channel the rock/country/bluegrass vibe at Blue Lamp in Sacramento. Tickets are $10 and the opening act starts at 9pm.
Local fixture Brodie Stewart will take the stage at Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar and Grill in Folsom. Tickets start at $20.
Or maybe skip the bubbly and bust out the yoga mat. Bikram Yoga Elk Grove is hosting a *re-New Year’s Eve mini retreat from 8am to 2pm on the 31st or ring in the new year covered in sweat with Bikram Yoga East Sac – they have a class at 10pm that will roll right into January first.
Another option, party in the snow! Squaw Valley will host an East Coast Toast at High Camp with a fabulous night on the mountain. This all-ages party includes a buffet and begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $59 for adults and $39 for kids 12 and under. The fireworks show starts at 9 p.m.
If you have a couple days off, enjoy Lake Tahoe’s SnowGlobe Music Festival December 29-31. For three days, the festival will rock Lake Tahoe’s South Shore, with world-class musicians, including Deadmau5, Wiz Khalifa and Beats Antique.
And the morning after? Catch the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day from 6am to 10am.
