Robert Grappi, an 82-year-old Elk Grove man who was California’s first “Silver Alert,” has been found in Grass Valley.

He was located during a traffic stop Wednesday morning. He has been taken to a Grass Valley hospital.

Newly implemented in 2013, California’s “Silver Alert” system aims to work much like “Amber Alert” – but instead focusing on at-risk people over the age of 65 who go missing.

Grappi had been missing since Monday.
