Police: Parents ‘Too Strict’ over Internet, Daughter Drugs Their Milkshakes

ROCKLIN—

Police are saying that a Rocklin girl was so fed up with how strict her parents were over internet access that she put sleeping meds in their milkshakes.

The incident went down back on Dec. 28, with police releasing the information Wednesday. The girl allegedly put some prescription sleeping meds, given to her by a friend, into her parents’ milk shakes.

The parents drank about a quarter of the funny tasting shakes and were out within an hour. They didn’t wake up until the next morning.

A few days later, still wondering what happened, they marched down to Rocklin PD and bought drug tests meant for teenagers.

“This particular case, the parents used them on themselves, they believe they found some kind of positive drug reaction,” said Rocklin Police Lt. Lon Milka.

The parents believe their daughter and her friend worked together to to crush up the sedative and slip it into the milkshakes.

Investigators found that the girl was fed up with how her parents would cut off her internet access by 10 p.m. every night. By drugging her parents, investigators concluded, the girls could use the internet as long as they wanted.

Both girls, one being from Rocklin and the other from Roseville, were arrested. They face willingly putting a drug into food and conspiracy charges.

This case is being handled in juvenile court, but if these were comparable adult charges, it would be a felony.

Because of their age, the girls’ names are not being released.
