FBI Offering Update on Speed Freak Killer Victim Search
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is expected to talk about planned excavations for victims of the Speed Freak Killers Monday morning. The agency has started to get heavy equipment into place for digging.
The FBI took over the dig efforts in the Linden area last year. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office had been leading excavation efforts in their county and the larger well site in Linden.
Monday morning, the FBI will give reporters an update on planned excavation of a well site in Linden, and how any discoveries will be handled.
Wesley Shermantine and Loren Herzog were labeled the Speed Freak Killers in the 1990’s after a string of murders were blamed on them.
Herzog killed himself in January 2012, reportedly after Shermantine threatened to reveal details about more bodies that investigators did not know about.
