A suspected car thief led Sacramento Police on a high-speed chase early Tuesday morning.

With the help of a LoJack system, police were able to find a black Honda Civic that had just been reported stolen around midnight. An air unit spotted the car heading down northbound I-5 near the Sutterville Road exit.

Police then tried to pull over the guy, but he took off – leading officers on a chase with speeds that topped out at over 100 miles per hour.

Taking the 15th Street off-ramp, the suspect continued to try and evade police while going down P Street.

His tires went flat after he tried to drive on the sidewalk and the suspect tried to get away on foot. But a police K-9 was able to subdue the suspect and take him into custody.

The suspect was then taken to the UC Davis Medical Center for evaluation.
