Snow Catches Travelers by Surprise

SODA SPRINGS-

Wednesday was a busy night for tow truck drivers and California Highway Patrol officers on Interstate 80 between Blue Canyon and Donner Summit.

They responded to several spinouts and accidents.

A storm system that moved in from the north seemed to surprise many travelers, but skiers and snowboarders are enthusiastic about all the fresh powder expected by Thursday morning.

As Soda Springs resident Derek Enns put it, “Every day is paradise up here.”
