Stocking Up on Guns

SACRAMENTO–

In light of the mass shooting tragedy in Newtown, legislators are looking to come up with ways to reduce gun violence. And before possible restrictions set in, people are stocking up on guns and ammo, fearing they soon won’t be able to.

In December, the number of background checks performed for gun buyers hit an all time high nationally, up 60% since this time last year.

Vice President Joe Biden is scheduled to announce a recommendation for the president on curbing gun violence Tuesday.

Meantime, Ammo Depot in Rancho Cordova sold hundreds of gun lesson tickets within the first few hours Saturday.
