A California Highway Patrol officer crashes his patrol car Monday night in Natomas while on the way to another accident.
The officer was en route to reports of an Amtrak train colliding with a stalled car in Davis. The car caught fire on southbound Interstate 5 after the officer went off the road and rolled several times.
The officer was taken to UC Davis Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. He was able to get out of the car and call in the accident.
Investigators aren’t yet sure why the officer lost control of his car.
