Children Playing with Matches Started Damaging Fire, Firefighters Say

A family must find a temporary place to live, following a late Monday night fire at their South Sacramento apartment complex.

The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. along 46th Street.

Firefighters say some children were playing with matches and caught a mattress on fire.

Only one unit was damaged, with initial estimates at $50,000 in repairs and losses.

No one was injured at the scene.
