A North Sacramento garage caught fire early Wednesday morning, forcing a family out of their home.

It happened around 1 a.m. near the Main Avenue and Northgate Boulevard intersection.

Firefighters were able to contain the flames to the garage but the smoke went through and damaged the home, which is why everyone inside had to leave.

They said they will be staying at a relatives house for the time being.

No one was injured and fire investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
