Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Relationship with Special Needs Student

NEWCASTLE-

A Placer County teacher has been arrested for having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a former student.

Police tell FOX40 Jennifer Lynn Woods, 35, began a relationship with a 16-year-old male student more than a year ago, while the student was attending the Sierra Vista School for special needs children.

The student has since transferred to another school.

Woods was booked Jan. 10 at the Placer County Jail on charges of alleged sex with a minor. Her employer, the Placer County Office of Education, contacted the Sheriff’s Office when they received information that she may be having an inappropriate relationship with a former student.

Woods’ bail was set at $100,000 and she bailed out of jail the day of her arrest. FOX40 tried to contact the woman in what’s believed to be her Granite Bay Home, but no one answered the door.

Woods is scheduled to be in court on Feb. 4.
