Forget cliches, for Kathie Patterson, bittersweet tears of joy are real.
On Thursday, Anthony Coxum the man Patterson believes killed her daughter, Eldoris Graham, has finally been named a suspect in her case.
“Thank God. I’m so happy that I don’t know what to do. It’s a prayer I’ve asked over and over and begged God to let this day come forth,” Patterson told FOX40. “I don’t ever want to see that monster out there hurting somebody else’s child and doing to them what he did to my daughter. That was unmerciful. It was not called for.”
Graham, 28, was found near Johanssen High School in Modesto last week.
Graham had been missing since mid-December, shortly her disappearance, Coxum was taken into custody in North Carolina and discovered with Graham’s car.
With Coxum officially a suspect in the case, Patterson says she can lay her daughter to rest. “I’m so grateful that I have my daughter here with me, I would have loved to have had her alive, but I wanted justice and I’m just so happy. I’m happy.”
