One person suffered moderate injuries after a plane crash near the Yuba County Airport Saturday afternoon.
Yuba County Sheriff’s say that a small, single-engine plane with a pilot and a trainee were involved. Apparently, the plane started having engine problems at nearly 200 feet, so they decided to try and return to the runway.
About 100 yards south of the runway, the plane flipped over and crashed. One person suffered moderate injuries, while another person was able to walk away from the scene unharmed.
A grass fire broke out thanks to the crash, but was soon contained.
