Police say that two men and two women used a 2-year-old child as a ruse to rob a Sacramento home Monday afternoon.
According to a police report, two women along with a 2-year-old knocked on woman’s door along 2nd Avenue and 63rd Street around 4:30 p.m. She opened her door, but not her screen door, and talked to the women, who claimed that the child needed to use to restroom.
The victim was said to have been skeptical of the women’s story, but the women opened the screen door and pushed the victim aside.
Two men also entered the home and started talking to the victim, but the victim still didn’t buy the group’s story and called her son on the intercom. So, the group left – but the woman found that her purse and money were missing.
Officers showed up to investigate, but soon got a call about a similar situation. The person the group tried to rob didn’t open the door this time, however, and instead called police.
Once at the other scene, police found the suspect’s car with the two women and 2-year-old inside. The two women were arrested and now face charges stemming from the home invasion. Police weren’t able to find the two men.
