Four Sacramento County homes near Rancho Cordova were evacuated Tuesday afternoon because of a ruptured gas line.
A construction crew working near Appalachian Drive and Hyannis Way reportedly hit the line and caused the leak.
PG&E crews are working to repair the leak. The home were only evacuated as a precaution.
Gas will be flowing into the neighborhood until about 7 p.m., when crews will be able to shut the line off. It isn’t known how long it will take to repair the line.
