Plane Hits Bird After Takeoff, Returns to Sac International


A Southwest plane hit a bird shortly after takeoff and returned to Sacramento International Airport.


Passengers heading to Southern California from Sacramento had to find another flight after their plane hit a bird Thursday morning.

Just before 7 a.m., a Southwest Airlines flight heading to Ontario hit a bird shortly after takeoff, and returned to the runway.

The plane landed safely back at Sacramento International Airport, and no one was injured. Emergency crews from Sacramento City Fire responded to the runway just in case.

All passengers were put on different flights.
