STOCKTON-

A Stockton area school district is beefing up their security, adding six new security guards.

Lincoln Unified School District voted Tuesday night to hire the new safety officers at a cost of about $226,000.

The district says the addition will mean one person can be permanently assigned to each school. They can then get to know the students, staff, parents and surrounding community.

Right now the district has a team of guards who rotate between the schools.
