Thieves Crash Jewelry Store With Stolen Car

STOCKTON

Every kiss may begin with Kay, but this wasn’t exactly a kiss.

Police say jewelry store thieves used a stolen SUV to crash through the window and security gate of a Kay jewelry store on Trinity Parkway in Stockton. The surveillance video shows them finishing the job with hammers, smashing in display cases, and grabbing whatever they could.

“There’s a little bit of glass, but it’s not a big mess at all,” said Lacey Abbott. She was one of the customers shopping as the store was restored today. She left a bracelet at the jeweler to be repaired.

She said it didn’t make her nervous to leave her valuable there at all.

“In the video the looked really unsure what they were doing, like they were doing it so they could go out and say ‘ hey, I smashed and grabbed at a jewelry store,’” Abbott said.

Stockton Police are hoping someone will recognize the men in the video and give them a tip. And remember, four men were involved counting the driver who smashed through the front window.
