Firefighters called in homicide detectives after they found a dead body in the remains of a house fire.
The fire started at a home along Norwood Avenue just south of I-80 in Sacramento around 10 a.m. Friday.
There is trauma to the body, and Sacramento Police are treating it as a homicide. However, at least initially they do not know if the fire caused some of the trauma or if it was used to cover up the crime.
They are looking for a person to question in connection to the fire; a man was seen leaving in a white sedan right after the fire, and investigators would like to talk to him.
Norwood Avenue near Grand Avenue will be blocked for several hours as investigators process the home and talk to neighbors.
About a dozen people have been displaced as the investigation continues.
