ROSEVILLE-
A man who tried to attack a school principal, putting the school on lockdown this week, was a transient and is now under arrest.
Thursday afternoon a man walked onto Creekview Ranch Middle School and confronted the principal.
The man, identified as Gae Poppenga, pointed an object at the principal like a handgun and said he was going to kill him. The object turned out to be a lighter.
The school was locked down and kids in after school programs were kept inside until Placer County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Poppenga.
He is now in the Placer County Jail for charges of making criminal threats and resisting arrest.
