MARYSVILLE—
A Marysville woman was arrested for child endangerment after police officers found 3 feet tall piles of garbage all throughout her apartment.
Police were called to an apartment complex near 22nd and Hansen streets around 7:47 a.m. Friday after a domestic disturbance report. Once at the scene, officers found that there was no disturbance.
However, the officers decided to investigate the apartment to do a welfare check on a 5-year-old girl. Once inside, officers said they were confronted with mounds of garbage in every room.
With the piles reaching 3 feet tall, the officers took the girl away and called Yuba County Child Protective Services.
Alyson Leonard, 41, was soon arrested for child endangerment charges.
Inspectors are taking a look at the apartment.
