The Sacramento-area housing market looks to be gaining strength, according to numbers release Tuesday by financial research company CoreLogic.
Compared to December 2011, home prices in the Sacramento, Arden-Arcade and Roseville areas rose by 13.2% in December 2012. Over the same period of time, numbers show that home prices only increased by 8.3% nationally.
In all, California had the fourth-highest increase in home prices – trailing only Arizona, Nevada and Idaho with a 12.6% increase.
CoreLogic notes that the numbers show the first year-over-year national increase since May 2006.
