Family Woken up by Smell of Garage Fire

A South Sacramento family was woken up by the smell of smoke early Wednesday morning.

Fire crews were able to contain the fire to a car in the garage near the Calvine Road and Franklin Boulevard intersection.

There was only minor damage to the garage.

Smoke filled parts of the house but Sacramento City’s Fire Chief said the family would likely be able to go back into the home by Wednesday night.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No one was injured.
