Granite Bay Boasts 15 Athletes on Signing Day

The Grizzlies of Granite Bay High School showed they are more than just a state championship football team, after 15 of its students signed national letters of intent to play sports at various colleges around the country.

“It’s really exciting,” said Hannah Calton, who will be heading to Loyola Marymount University to swim.

Tommy Thompson will be heading to Indiana University to be a Hoosier — even skipping his junior year in high school. He’ll be joining forces with his brother on the soccer pitch.

“The idea behind leaving was to give myself another year of eligibility with Tanner. We work really well together,” said Thompson.

The school expects to have more students move onto college teams once more offers come in and certain athletes decided where they want to go.
