DAVIS—

The city of Davis continues to see more home burglaries, with four more being reported over the weekend.

All four happened during the early morning hours Sunday – with the suspects apparently getting into the victim’s homes through unlocked sliding doors and bedroom windows.

In each successful robbery (as one was interrupted, while another looked to have been attempted), the burglars made off with electronics like laptops and cellphones, and other items like jewelry, cash and credit cards.

Davis has been dealing with a rash of burglaries since the beginning of the year, with 22 burglaries reported since January. West Davis was the hardest hit in January, with 10 reported burglaries in 14 days.

This weekend’s string of robberies reportedly happened in South Davis. No descriptions of any possible suspects has been released.

Police are encouraging residents to report suspicious activity, like seeing any suspicious people or cars cruising through neighborhoods. Residents are also encouraged to lock their homes, since in almost every reported burglary recently, the victims failed to properly secure their homes.
