DAVIS—
Police say that a downtown Davis cell phone store was robbed Monday evening by a man who said he was armed.
According to a police report, the suspect showed up at the Verizon store along 1st Street around 7 p.m. and asked a clerk to look and some merchandise.
The clerk helped the man out, only to see that he was taking the merchandise from the storage cabinet.
Although no one actually saw a weapon, police say that the suspect alluded to having one during the course of the robbery.
After taking an unknown amount of stuff, the man took off – last being seen walking through the parking lot.
Police say the suspect was wearing a black long-sleeved shirt with a white skull and a World War II helmet at the time of the robbery. He is also described as a white man, about 5’11’’ and of average weight.
