Small Plane Crashes near Winters

A small, single-seat plane crashed near Winters Wednesday afternoon, killing the pilot, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash was neat Interstate 505 and Putah Creek Road. Debris could be found on the roadside, the CHP says.

The pilot has not been identified.

A piece of the one of the plane’s wings was found north of the crash. No roads have been closed as a result of the crash.

The FAA is at the site of the crash to investigate.
